14th Steering Committee Meeting of the RuralYouthFuture Project

On 11 September 2026, the 14th Steering Committee Meeting of the RuralYouthFuture project was held, bringing partners together to discuss the final stages of the project and the key activities ahead.

The first topic partners discussed was the preparation of the project’s final conference, which will take place on 4 December 2026 in Brussels. Partners discussed the main actions and practical steps needed to ensure a successful conclusion of the project and to present its key achievements and results.

The meeting also focused on the finalisation of the project from both technical and financial perspectives, including the reporting process, project budget execution and the activities planned for the final semester.

Particular attention was given to Policy Improvements and Action Plans, which aim to translate the project’s results and exchanged good practices into concrete improvements at a local level.

A notable example for Bulgaria is the Policy Improvement adopted by the Municipality of Peshtera, which aims to expand the activities of the local Youth Municipal Centre by introducing STEM and ICT-based activities for young people. The initiative was inspired by good practices shared during project study visits, particularly the VIZIUM Science Centre in Ventspils, Latvia, and the GOMA – Gomes Teixeira Academy of Sciences programme in Armamar, Portugal. The new approach aims to strengthen young people’s knowledge and skills while supporting their future professional opportunities and responding to the needs of the local labour market.

The meeting marked another important milestone towards the successful completion of the RuralYouthFuture project, highlighting how the exchange of European experiences can lead to meaningful policy improvements and new opportunities for young people in rural communities.
