Project Partners Meeting under the INFIRE Project
During the period of 3rd and 4th of October 2024, a Project partners’ meeting and the 4th Steering Committee meeting within the frame of the project INFIRE (INnovative FInancing solutions for climate planning of REsilient and carbon neutral living areas), co-funded by the Interreg Euro-MED Programme, was organized in the capital of Croatia – Zagreb, between all project partners.
The event started with a welcome speech by a representative from the REGEA institution.
After that, the current project status and modifications were introduced between the partners.
The management and reporting status of the project was reviewed.
The main goal of this event was to shape the work of Work Packages for the project INFIRE.
The partners started the work on Work Package (WP) 1 – Innovative green financing for resilient and carbon-neutral Euro-MED living areas. In WP1 the topics of climate adaptation and establishing carbon neutrality are addressed, and the main activities were discussed, along with methods and expected deliverables as well as the next steps of the WP works.
In WP2 – Integrating and improving policy instruments for sustainable and carbon-neutral residential zones, the key activities, objectives and next steps in the INFIRE project were reflected.
The partners also discussed the work on WP3 – Testing and demonstrating the viability of concrete climate adaption and carbon neutrality (CACN) solutions in Euro-MED living areas. Joint preparation, evaluation and monitoring of the pilot activities was carried out, and then each of the pilot activities was presented. Experts from the energy agency REAP presented the pilot activities for Bulgaria, which will be organized on the territory of Peshtera Municipality.
On the second working day, the project participants developed the last package: WP4 – Transfer of INFIRE knowledge.
