Interregional study visit in Estonia within the RuralYouthFututre project

In the period of 12th to 13th of June 2024, a partner’s meeting and study visit focused on good practices for rural sustainable development took place in Tartu, Estonia under the project RuralYouthFuture.

On the 12th of June, the meeting started with a review from the CEO of the Association of Municipalities of Tartu County, on the strategy of Tartu Country 2040. The Wellbeing Development Manager of this  Association presented a strategic perspective for the youth field in Estonia and Tartu County.

The Project Manager of the Association of Municipalities of Tartu County made an overview of the project “Entrepreneurial Southern Estonian Youth”. NEET youth presented the Improving of the Employability of Inactive Young People in Tartu County.

Representatives from the Estonian Unemployment Insurance Fund made a house tour and presented their presentations.

There was a Steering Committee meeting of the project RuralYouthFuture organized, in which only project partners participated. The progress of activities was discussed, and the upcoming tasks and events were planned.

The study visit to rural regions continued in Municipality of Elva. The mayor and the prevention specialist started the second working day with a welcome speech. The head of Rõngu Community Center talked about Youth involvement and experience exchange of good practices. The youth work specialist introduced strategies and directions of development in the field of youth policies in Elva Municipality.

A little later in the day, the participants took a short walk around Arbi Lake in Elva.

After that, the mayor of Noo welcomes the project partners in the Municipality. A member of public relations presented a short presentation about Nõo Municipality. A youth work specialist demonstrated good practices of youth involvement.

The working day finished with a Youth center tour which is located on the ground floor of the municipality building.
